The daughter of Colonel Thomas Paterson and Ann Porterfield; she married Captain Thomas Bligh of the Coldstream Guards, from whom she eloped with William Pole-Tylney-Long-Wellesley, fourth Earl of Mornington, whom she married in 1828.
