The son of Thomas Hutchinson and nephew of William Wordsworth; educated at St. John's College, Cambridge, he was curate of Chew Magna with Dundry, Somersetshire (1843-45) and perpetual curate of St James's, Mathon, Herefordshire (1845-56).
