Henry Sykes Thornton (1800-1881)

Of Battersea Rise; the son of the banker Henry Thornton of Clapham (d. 1815), he succeeded his father in the banking business, married Harriet Maria, daughter of Archdeacon William Dealtry, and was elected to the Royal Society in 1834.
