Of North Shields, daughter of Jacob Bell, who in 1826-27 attempted to engage Sir Walter Scott against a Methodist clergyman who had broken up her engagement. She published The Cause of Truth defended: being a Plain Statement of the Facts connected with the two Trials of the Rev. T. Hill, Methodist Preacher (1827).
