Born in Cork, the son of Sir Henry Cavendish, second baronet; in 1796 he married Marianne Jeffereys who published the novel Memoirs of the Countess d'Alva under the name “Priscilla Parlante”. He was Groom of the Bedchamber and F.S.A.
