James Heywood (1810-1897)
A younger son of the Manchester banker Nathaniel Heywood; educated at Edinburgh
University and Trinity College, Cambridge, he was a Unitarian philanthropist, educational
reformer, and Radical MP for Lancashire (1847-57).
